Thurant has various sections set aside to display artifacts, some authentic and some recreated, which allows a visitor a nice view of medieval life. Unfortunately, the two towers at the castle are closed to visitors (one of them is used as a water cistern). On the right, the castle chapel. Below, the entrance to the chapel (left) and the wine cellar.
Right, the interior of the wine cellar. Below, left, the entrance to the horse stalls, and to the lower right, the horse stalls rebuilt.
The battlements have some rebuilt cannon emplaced. Below is a small piece on what appears to be an 18th Century Spanish siege carriage. To the lower right, another view of the same battlement from above.
Some views of the walls, a turret, and a walkway along a wall. The restoration work was well done, making Thurant an excellent choice for a visit.
