The steps descending into the lower level of the palas. From what we could determine, these stairs appear authentic to the original structure and without restoration.
Below, another look towards the main residence, but this from the spitze to the northeast edge of the castle.
Right, the stairs that lead to nowhere. Apparently these steps went to a battlement that guarded the gate.
As mentioned before, the view from on top is phenomenal. From Lindelbrunn one can see four other castles in the distance.
To the left, Neuscharfeneck, 15 kms to the north with a close up below. This castle, skipped on the last trip, is slated for exploration in a future trip, but will require some extensive hiking to reach.
The coloring on these photos has been altered some to help details stand out.
Above and right, two views of Madenburg to the eastnortheast about 8.5 kms away. We tried to hike to this castle but while my instincts are normally quite good, we got on a wrong trail and went up the wrong hill!
Below, a view of Landeck 7.5 kms away. This and Madenburg are two I wish to visit in the near future.
Below, a fabulous view of Trifels, seen from 8 kms away. Neuscharfeneck appears off to the far left. One can see how Trifels would dominate the entire region.
The rock pillar to the left is NOT Anebos, as this would be to the right and out of site in the trees.
