The restoration work can clearly be seen in some of these photos. To the right, one of the walls for the inner ward. Below left, a tower connected to the inner ward. There are no floors or stairs in these towers. Below right, a restored interior section of one of the turrets, showing the wooden walkway and supporting beams. This restoration work is being done with the intent of trying to recreate the original structure, and not simply modernize it for tourists.
Some scaffolding was still there in 2005, but by this point (2007) most of it should be gone. I didn't find the scaffolding that was there to be any detriment to seeing the castle or imagining the structure as it once was. Below left, shows some of the out lying buildings that create the courtyard. The photo below right, shows the inner wall of one of the towers. The square holes or notches in the wall were for the wooden support beams that held up the floor.
