Right, a view within the western bastion showing how large it was. Even though the French blew it up, it was so large that it still largely survived intact though unusable for defense.

Below is an excellent photos along most of the length of the castle as seen from the western bastion. This castle is a child's dream come true, as there are numerous corridors and places to explore. It is hard to get bored in this site!

The walkway seen in the two photos at right actually span the gate that leads into the outer ward, which is to the right in the photos.
